At this point I would've voted for the democratic regardless of who it is. Before Bill Clinton left office we had 10 years surplus funds available that Bush spent and then some in 4 years. I am not a fan of the Republican party and never have been. I think McCain is too old to be running this country. But if you havent already heard Hilary Clinton is about to through a huge monkey wrench in Obama's campaign..she's going to add her name to the nominations....BITCH! I'm mad now sorry Reply to this comment |

i am voting for a change and race. let me get the race part out of the way right now. yes some may say it is wrong to vote for someone because they are black but there are so many not voting for him because he is black or simply because all we are used to is white men in power. do i think it is smart to base your entire vote on race? no its not because even our own have done us dirty!
however, i do not think amercia will ever be ready for any real change. any change that has happened in america, as far as race, has always come with a fight. do you really think the majority are going to just lye down while obama goes all the way to the top? heck no! do i think there are situations that will be (and have been) testing to him...yes i do. does he pander sometimes...yes he does but i think that is a game we (black people) have been taught since we came out of the womb! we all wear a differnet mask whether you want to admit it or not. when obama first came on the scene, very few people knew who he was. then he started to make a name for himself. people read his books and started paying attention to what he had to say. then new hampshire happened! no one saw that coming. so now, they see him as a threat. they started paying attention to his preacher and the things he was saying. they looked at who was supporting him. was it right for obama to basically denouce what he has always known to better himself? that is a matter of opinion. have we not all done that at some point in our lives? have we not had to let someone or something fall to the side (even if just a little bit) to get ahead?
race is a factor in this election that we can not avoid. the world thought it was going to come down to clinton and mccain and look what happened. maybe the elder generation is not ready for a black president and that is the situation, in part, that john mccain is trying to win upon. as the saying goes if it aint broke dont fix it...a lot of americans feel that we have not gone wrong since 1776 so why mess it up now with a bit of color in the white house (built by slaves mind you
i think mccains weakness is he seems too passive. he is a smart man and a decorated war hero as we all know but will he really be a third bush term? will he realize that we need to get the heck out of iraq or will it be more lives risked in order to "win"? the same for obama because its only fair.
this is a great question and would love to know what everyone else thinks! keep it coming Mr. G!
